Grand Rising 2021 Summer Solstice Summit is a day-long celebration of indigenous ancestral practices that have allowed communities of color to experience collective healing during times of injustice. Our resilience is shared in the world through innovative and creative expressions that have birthed new businesses, partnerships, programs, and opportunities awakening and expanding our collective consciousness to thrive. On the longest day of the year which marks the beginning of a season of beauty and abundance, we gather to celebrate, share and honor our awakening!
This summit seeks to create sacred space for black, brown, latinx, and indigenous peoples from around the world to commune, celebrate and heal. Joined by facilitators from Canada, Jamaica, Trinidad, Sierra Leone and across the United States, this summit aims to use the warmth of the sun to raise our frequency and create deeper connections with our ancestors, the Earth and one another.

Self-Healing Power and Therapy, Old Teachings From Africa

Within many indigenous cultures, symbols and colors are important in order to understand the language and significance of one’s culture. It is important that we share with you our logo for the conference and its significance. In the center is the Akan Adinkra Symbol - Owia Kokroko - “Greatness of the Sun” and symbolizes vitality and renewal. The four colors (yellow, black, red, grey) are from the Bantu cosmology which uses the concept of a “living sun” to represent personal, professional, spiritual, and political development. These colors can also be found in the Native American medicine wheel.
